  1. Ghost

From the recording Paper Tigers

Paper Tigers-
Written by Adam Flaig
These three songs were recorded in Nashville, TN at County Q Studio under the supervision and guidance of engineer/producer Mike Purcell. They were written independently of each other with years in between but when grouped together in sequence a story is born.
I constantly hold myself back due to fright but I have to remember paper tigers don't bite.

Lyrics

There's a ghost in my house
I saw him today
There's a ghost in my house
I saw him today
He opened the door, he walked right inside and looked around
He went through my things, he got out some food and ate it there

And he came so soon, and he came for me
And he came so suddenly, I couldn't leave

There's a hole in my chest, I feel it now
There's a box on the ground, it's empty now
What's in the open hand? What's in the open hand? I can't see.
It's cold to the touch and I am cold, so much more than I was.

And he came so soon, I didn't know if I was alive
So I lay on the floor, just hoping for a sign

There's a ghost on the stairs, he's calling for me
With one hand on the rail, he's calling for me
He yelled out so loud, he yelled out so loud but I couldn't hear
Every memory I made has just ran through my brain crystal clear

And he opened the door and he walked over to me
With a smile on his face he got down on one knee and he said

I don't want to be a ghost
I don't want to tell you bad news, you're dead
I don't want to be a ghost
I don't want to tell you bad news, you're dead

And we walked down the stairs, everyone I knew was there
And they all saw through me
As I walked out the door I said

I don't want to be a ghost
I don't want to tell you bad news, I'm dead
I don't want to be a ghost
I don't want to tell you bad news, I'm dead

And he came so soon, and he came for me
And he came so suddenly, I couldn't leave
